Waste to Gold Contest

All ages

Students are invited to submit pictures and descriptions of useful or decorative items constructed from "junk" that would be normally thrown away. There will be First, Second and Third Prizes for students up to grade 6 and First, Second and Third Prizes for grade 6 and up. All winners and their teachers will receive the official 2010 Earth Day Ottawa Cloth bag containing surprise prizes.

 

Leadership Seminar for High School Students

High School Students will be invited to a day-long Seminar at the Museum of Nature on April 22nd, 2010. Partners providing speakers will include the Museum of Nature, Ecology Ottawa, Growing up Organic and Tucker House. More information will be posted as we build the agenda.

Solar Sprint

A fun and exciting event with solar powered race cars. Teams of students compete to see who can design and build the fastest solar powered cars. Contest includes prizes for best Web Sites, Videos or PowerPoint presentations.

 

Cloth Bag Design Contest

Grades 1 to 6

From all submissions, one design will be featured on the Official Earth Day Ottawa 2009 Cloth Bag. Second and Third prizes will also be awarded.
